Norton Online, Stay Safe

MomCentral is offering a free “sneak preview” of the new Norton Online site.  I am happy to share this opportunity with you and to link you over, but I wanted to tell you a little about the site, first.

It offers an easy setup that is a one-time account creation, you enter profiles for your family members based on age and maturity level (I appreciate this as some children are ahead of their friends at the same age).  Then, it enables you to follow your children’s activity online, modify the profiles at any time (to adjust for specific sites you DO allow), change and update preferences, and even set up time allotments to keep your child from spending too much time browsing sites or playing games online.

You can do this from work or any other computer, it doesn’t have to be the system your child is using.  I like that it offers a peek at what words are typed into Google searches, so you know a little about what the child might be searching for, too.

With many other features, you can take a look now via this link and let me know what you think about monitoring your children while they explore the Internet.  Is it disrespecing their privacy or is it protecting your child?
